Common Questions
Is chiropractic safe for babies and young children?
Yes. Chiropractic assessment and management for children uses modified, gentle techniques appropriate to each age group — not the same techniques used for adults. Our practitioners are trained in paediatric presentation and assessment. As with all healthcare, management is tailored to the individual child's presentation and age.
What age can children start seeing a chiropractor?
We see children from toddler age onwards. Common presentations include back pain, neck pain, postural concerns and sports injuries. If you are unsure whether chiropractic assessment is appropriate for your child, please call us to discuss before booking.
How do I know if my child needs to see a chiropractor?
Signs that may warrant a chiropractic assessment include: persistent back or neck pain, postural asymmetry, a noticeable curve in the spine, or recurring sports-related complaints.
Do I need separate appointments for each family member?
Yes — each family member requires their own assessment and treatment appointment. We can often schedule family members consecutively to minimise travel time.
Is chiropractic covered for children under private health insurance?
Yes. Private health extras policies cover chiropractic for all ages, including children. Check your policy for annual limits. We have HICAPS on-site for immediate claiming.
Can my elderly parent attend even with osteoporosis?
Yes, with appropriate technique modification. We use very gentle, low-force mobilisation for patients with osteoporosis rather than high-velocity adjustment. Always disclose any bone density conditions at your first appointment.
